Backcombing

Want high volume hair, but finding your backcombing isn't going the distance? Even when using hairspray your efforts can be wasted as your hair begins to loosen and droop over the course of the night.
To backcomb, ensure that your hair is tangle free, and then separate the part of your hair your want to backcomb from the rest of your hair. Lift this at a right angle to your head, and using either a comb or bristle brush, start brushing towards your scalp. The motion should not be as fast as when you brush your hair normally. Instead, use a firm hand and brush down slowly, repeating many times. This creates a better effect whilst causing less damage.

Cover the area with hairspray, to ensure that the hair is held in place. Then, to set the hair, use your hairdryer to dry the hairspray for a few seconds. This will ensure that your look will stay in place much longer.
